About Last Dance

In order to win top spot in her dance company and stay afloat financially, Amah mines her romantic resume from elementary school to the present. The results are poignant, sweet and insightful as Amah comes to terms with her queerness and the confidence to be herself unapologetically.

Amah is a single dancer in her 30’s, trying to balance it all. She’s broke, working at BAM promotions by day giving out samples, and divides her time between dance, trying to have a good time with her bestie Natasha and squeezing out time for her mom, Domanique. Maybe she’s queer and new friend Tee, encourages her to find out what coming out really means.

Last Dance is a love letter to the Toronto of the past. Join Amah’s ride as she reminisces about her teenage years and twenties through the lens of dance, from elementary school dances, the short lived swing dance craze, burlesque, contemporary and more. Each episode will feature a dance routine and tutorials will invite audiences to remix the choreography.
